Siro Cugusi (1980), born in Italy, currently lives in Sardinia. His work investigates the tension between the figurative and the abstract, offering a place of meditative introspection where one can contemplate beauty and mystery. Through paintings, sculptures and installations characterised by figures that no longer correspond to the names we gave them and which do not respect the traditional narrative, Siro creates an autonomous and personal language unknown, full of archaic and metaphorical meaning. Siro graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti, in 2004. Recent and upcoming solo exhibitions include: Annarumma Gallery, Naples (2018); Secret Garden, Galleri KANT, Copenhagen (2018); and Lux Art Institute, Encinitas, California (2017). Recent group shows include: Like No Other, Annarumma Gallery, Naples (2018); Alpenglühen: 100 years of Ettore Sottsass Jr., Belmacz, London (2018); Dobrinka Salzman Gallery, New York (2018); Awkward, Anna Zorina Gallery, New York (2017); Whet Ya Whistle, Galleri KANT, Copenhagen (2017); Tom Dash & Siro, Dean Borghi Fine Art, New York (2016); and Mark Borghi Fine Art, New York (2015). Siro has also exhibited several times at Art Basel Miami Scope Artshow and Luxembourg Art Week.
